Avrillat is the smallest hamlet in the Poncin area. There are about thirty houses in the village.

Don’t leave the village without seeing its fountain which is always covered in flowers. It was built in one block and has the shape of a shell, so we think that it used to be on the path to St-Jacques-de-Compostelle.

In the archives, there are traces of a castle in Avrillat but no one has ever found evidence about it.

There are also 2 or 3 houses which are built in the style of the old wine growing farms.
